A HYUNDAI carrying seven tourists from Wisconsin flipped over during a ‘serious’ road traffic collision on the A590 this morning.
A 38-year-old female passenger was cut free from the overturned vehicle by firefighters after the three-vehicle collision at Haverthwaite, near Lakeside Railway.
She was then handed over to paramedics and taken to Furness General Hospital, along with the 72-year-old male driver and a 12-year-old male passenger.
The other four passengers were uninjured.
A Vauxhall van was also involved in the collision and the driver - a 38-year-old man from Millom - was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the third vehicle - a HGV - was uninjured.
The road was closed for around two hours following the incident, which occurred at around 10.15am.
None of the injuries sustained were life-threatening.
