Jemima, 17, becomes first engineer apprentice at Glaxo

GSK Ulverston has recruited its first female engineering apprentice and wants more women to join.

Jemima Armstrong, 17, from Silecroft, said: “I chose engineering because I like the mix of academic and hands-on work that you get.”

All apprentices work towards an advanced apprenticeship and can study for an HNC, HND or degree while gaining paid work experience.
