Elderly woman stretchered from fell after suffering head injury

A 75-YEAR-OLD woman suffered a head injury after slipping at Greenhead Ghyll, Grasmere yesterday.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team evacuated the casualty by stretcher after she declined the option of a helicopter evacuation. 

The rescue took more than two hours and involved 11 team members.
