Woman, 79, cuts head and hand in Buttermere fall
AN ELDERLY woman who cut her head and hands after falling in the Lake District has been taken to hospital.
The 79-year-old from Wigan fell around noon while walking next to Buttermere.
A Great North Air Ambulance Service helicopter, the North West Ambulance Service and Cockermouth MRT all attended.
She was treated on scene by GNAAS crew and MRT and then taken to Whitehaven hospital with non-life threatening injuries by road crew.
