A WORKER at an offshore windfarm suffered a head injury off Walney Island.

RNLI's Barrow crew were called to the Ormonde windfarm, six miles west of Barrow, at 11.25pm last night (July 8).

The team received a radio message saying a man had suffered a head injury and required immediate evacuation to hospital.

The lifeboat crew went to the scene and found that the crew of the wind farm barge had managed to crane lift the casualty onto the wind farm support vessel ‘Attender’.
