OPPONENTS to on-street parking meters and resident permit charges in Windermere hope to show the strength of feeling against the proposals this weekend.
Organised by the Windermere and Bowness Action Group, ‘The Jolly Brolly Picnic’ protest starts at 4pm on Saturday on the Glebe.
Around 5,000 leaflets have been delivered by the group in a bid to drum up support.
Last month hundreds packed into the Ladyholme Centre claiming Windermere and Bowness will become 'ghost villages' if the charges are introduced by Cumbria County Council.
