AN Essex teen was stretchered from Easedale Tarn after sustaining multiple injuries in a 40ft fall from a ridge.
The boy was with a group of young people camping at the tarn as part of an expedition.
He became separated from his companions as they decided to walk further uphill to watch the sunset.
He fell off a ridge and suffered injuries to his head, pelvis and arm.

He phoned Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team at around 11.25pm on Sunday.
The team managed to find his group’s camp and located him after hearing him shout and seeing the light from his mobile phone.
A team spokesperson said: “The area around him was treacherous – very steep with extremely broken ground.
“The team wore helmets while they went down to treat him and get him onto the stretcher.”
The boy, believed to be 16 or 17, was then airlifted to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle.
The rescue took six hours in total and involved 17 team members.
