A MOUNTAIN biker was taken to hospital after falling off and landing on her back yesterday (July 19).

The 32-year-old woman came off the bike and hit a tree stump while riding over a boardwalk at Whinlatter Forest Park, near Keswick.

After receiving painkillers, the fifteen members lifted the casualty onto the boardwalk and onto a stretcher.

She was then taken by stretcher to the waiting ambulance which took her to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle for further treatment.
