COMEDIAN Peter Kay was seen bouncing around in the Lake District as he and his sons enjoyed a sneak preview of the UK’s first ‘net adventure park’, which opened on Saturday.

The Lancashire-born funny-man became the first official visitor to the exciting new adventure park at Brockhole, near Windermere, when he popped in during a trip to the area on Friday.

Peter and two of his three sons tried out the 1,500 sq metre park which features giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels entirely made of nets and swinging high up in the tree canopy, and all said it was ‘brilliant’.

Completely surrounded by netting means there is no harnesses required – kids (and adults) can run and bounce to their heart’s content.

And it seems that the celebrity soon realised that as well as being great fun, the park was good exercise too.

“I must have lost two stone in ten minutes,” he told staff.

Mike Turner, who owns the nets and neighbouring high ropes course ‘treetop trek’, said: “Peter Kay was absolutely a delight, and we are thrilled he was our first official visitor.

“He was just so funny, it was as if we were constantly in his audience – he never stopped joking. They all had a great time and kept saying how wonderful the new attraction was.”

One of only 16 net parks to open worldwide, ‘treetop nets’ has been constructed by a small group of Frenchman – the only people in the world skilled to install the parks – who spent six weeks at the site.
