POLICE are warning people to be vigilant after purse thefts in South Lakeland.
Two 82-year-old women have reported theirs stolen in the last week.
The first incident took place on Friday, July 18 and occurred on Blackhall Road in Kendal at approximately 12:30pm.

Police said a woman from Barrow-in-Furness had her purse stolen whilst she waited for a bus and then the thieves used her bank cards later that day.
At 2pm on July 21, another 82-year-old lady had her purse stolen inside the Lakeland shop on Lake Road, Bowness-on-Windermere, said police.
The victim was distracted by the thief’s accomplice, who asked her what size her shoes were while another criminal stole her valuables.
On both occasions it is believed a group of one male and three or four females were involved, said police.
The criminals are believed to be in their twenties and of Eastern European appearance, said police.
A police statement said: “Please be vigilant when paying for items or using cash machines. Ensure your purse or wallet is kept in a secure pocket or compartment.
"Do not leave your bag open and if possible carry the bag to the front. Should you see anything suspicious then please contact police on 101. Should you have any information regarding the incidents that occurred on 18th and 21st July please contact Kendal police on 101."
