A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a crash with a car in the Lake District yesterday.
The man, aged between 41-50 and from Peterlee, from County Durham, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with pelvic and leg injuries.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service was called to the scene, north of the Queen's Head Hotel in Troutbeck, at around 2.30pm after a report of a man under a car.
The road was closed for several hours between Bridge Lane and A592 Rayrigg Road.
The motorcyclist's condition has been described as severe.
