A TEENAGER on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition had to be assisted by mountain rescuers after suffering an ankle injury.
The 17-year-old was approaching Side Farm, Patterdale, when the team was able to locate her.
The incident occurred on Friday at around 2.52pm.
A Patterdale mountain rescue vehicle was despatched to locate the youngster while other team members were assembled.
The girl was able to walk to rendezvous with her party leaders and the Patterdale team returned to base.
