A WALKER was evacuated from Whernside, North Yorkshire, after sustaining an ankle injury.
The incident, on Saturday at around 3.30pm, saw both an air ambulance team and Clapham Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) attend.
The CRO team stood down close to Bleamoor Sidings when it became clear that the air ambulance had managed to land next to the casualty, who was evacuated.
The incident took 23 volunteer hours.
