TWO dogs have been stolen from some stables in the Eden Valley.

The female eight-month-old and male four-year-old liver and white springer spaniels were taken when the stables between the villages of Colby and Bolton, near Appleby.

Cumbria Police said they believed the burglary took place sometime between 3pm on Saturday (August 2) and 2.50pm on Sunday (August 3).

Other items including horse harnesses and pony brollars were swiped.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything out of the ordinary in the area.
