TWO dogs have been stolen from some stables in the Eden Valley.

The female eight-month-old and male four-year-old liver and white springer spaniels were taken when the stables between the villages of Colby and Bolton, near Appleby.

Cumbria Police said they believed the burglary took place sometime between 3pm on Saturday (August 2) and 2.50pm on Sunday (August 3).

Other items including horse harnesses and pony brollars were swiped.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything out of the ordinary in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call non-emergency 101 and ask for PC 2221 Brownrigg or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

So the dogs have been left on their own for nearly 24 hours? Whilst I hope the theives are caught, I hope the dog owners give their animals more attention!
