THE Westmorland and Lonsdale Conservative Association’s Sedbergh and Kirkby Lonsdale branch welcomed Rory Stewart MP for Penrith & The Border, as the guest speaker at its annual dinner at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club.
He entertained an audience of 80 members, speaking extensively on foreign affairs and the issues facing rural communities’ across Cumbria, and was joined on the top table by Dr Ann Myatt, Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale.
She said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome Rory and to listen to such a distinguished speaker. Members were extremely impressed with his knowledge and opinions.”
