MORE than 2,000 scouts from 16 different countries took part in an international week-long camp called Red Rose 2014 at the Westmorland Showground, Crooklands.

The event was organised by the West Lancashire Scouts and participants took part in over 30 different activities, including kayaking, climbing, zorbing, caving and high ropes.

Among those attending were 200 Lonsdale District Scouts from Carnforth, Silverdale, Bolton-le-Sands, Hornby and surrounding areas.

Craig Dewar, Head of Lonsdale Scouts, said: “It is fantastic to see so many young people going on adventures together.”
