A MAN was treated for chest and possible spinal injuries after falling from the top of a waterfall above Aira Force on the shores of Ullswater this afternoon.
Members of the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team responded to a call from the North West Ambulance Service and found the injured man lying at the foot of the falls.

The team lowered down an air ambulance paramedic to the casualty. He was then treated at the scene and placed in a vacuum mattress before being transferred onto a stretcher.
The man was then hoisted out of the stream and up a steep banking before transfer to the North West Air Ambulance.
Eight team members were involved for approximately three hours in total.
