Man and granddaughter prompt rescue mission after failing to return from walk

First published in News

A MAN and his granddaughter reported overdue from a walk in the Langdales prompted mountain rescuers to turn out late last night.

The pair, last seen at 4pm on Bowfell summit, failed to return - and at around 9.21pm Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team turned out to search for them.

The team believed the pair might have been making their way down Mickleden.

However, they turned up at Keswick Mountain Rescue Team’s base at around the same time.

Two team members turned out for one-and-a-half hours.
