CONISTON Sports and Social Centre is celebrating ten years at the heart of village life.
Around 200 people enjoyed the fun of a bouncy castle, a surf machine and horse rides on the football pitch at the birthday event.

Brownies and Guides served cakes, scones, teas and coffees, and the village’s Christmas lights committee, children’s party committee and St Mary’s Hospice raised funds.
Live music and a disco rounded off the day, which was hailed a great success by Marie Karlsson, who manages the centre.
The centre opened its doors in August 2004 and features floodlit tennis and five-a-side football areas, a function room and bar, changing rooms and a football pitch used by Coniston AFC.
