A HANG-GLIDER escaped unscathed after crashing on a fell yesterday (Wednesday afternoon).
Kendal Mountain Rescue Team was called by police at 2.20pm following reports a hang-glider had crashed at Farleton Knott, on the eastern side of the M6, 2km south of J36.
"We were stood down at the bottom of the hill when it was established that, although it was a hard landing, the pilot was uninjured and able to make his own way down," said a team spokesperson.
The incident was also attended by an air ambulance, road ambulance and the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation.
"It was eventually determined that the pilot was uninjured and that it was a false alarm with good intent," said a CRO spokesperson.
