Lunesdale MP David Morris addresses a residents meeting concerning the homes plan
A PETITION has been set up against a proposed 5,000-home development at Cowan Bridge.
Residents are being urged to sign the document, at the village store, in response to Lancaster City Council suggestions that a brand new settlement could be built in the area.
Carol Howard, chair of Ireby with Leck Parish Council, which covers part of Cowan Bridge, said: “If this housing development goes ahead it will destroy a small village.”
