Rescuers saved an 84-year-old man after he 'ran out of legs' during an ambitious attempt to climb Blencathra.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called into action at 3:52pm on Saturday after walkers found the elderly man in difficulty.
The walkers had managed to help him back down part of the route but when the path became too steep they called for professional help.
Eleven members of the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team attended and the man was safely taken down the mountain and back to his hotel in Penrith.
