A LAKE District walker was airlifted to hospital yesterday (September 2) after suffering from chest pains.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 2.05pm to the 27-year-old walker who ran into difficulty on Red Pike, above Buttermere.
The Great North Air Ambulance attended the casualty with members of the team and the walker was assessed by a paramedic and team doctor.
He was stretchered to the helicopter before being flown to Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle.
The operation was carried out by 16 team members.
