A CHARTERED accountant spent Friday night sleeping in a shack in Kendal as part of a gruelling endurance challenge.
Luton man Dave Hall is running 40 marathons in 40 days going from John O’Groats to Land’s End.
Dave is running to raise money and awareness for people living in poverty in Sierra Leone, and his sleeping place for 40 days is a replica of a slum town shack.
MORE TOP STORIES: Dave’s mission is to raise enough money to build 40 new homes in Sierra Leone and change the lives of 40 families in the Freetown Slums.
He has raised £65,000 so far, with a target of £200,000 to reach by the end of his challenge.
The funds will go to new charity Home Leone, started by Nigel Hyde, the founder of established global charity, Mission Direct.
Dave began his challenge on August 18 and plans to cross the finish line at Land’s End on September 26.
Dave reached Kendal on Friday, and to celebrate, he pitched up his shack in Market Place from 4pm-5.30pm.
He said: “The running so far has been OK - it’s been sleeping that has been hard because of the size of the shack and where we have to locate it.”
