POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision near Hawes on Sunday.
The collision happened at around 4.35pm, on the B6255, Hawes to Ingleton Road, three miles south of Hawes.
The motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man from Penrith, was riding a silver Honda Blackbird and travelling away from Hawes when he was in collision with a grey Toyota RAV 4 which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The collision occurred around one kilometre south of the junction with Snaizeholme Road.
The motorcyclist was travelling with a group of three other bikers when the collision happened.
The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her 40s from the Bedale area, suffered slight injuries.
The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the casualties and for collision investigators to examine the scene. It reopened at around 10pm.
Police are appealing to anyone who saw a group of four bikers travelling along the three-mile stretch of the Hawes to Ingleton road between 4.15pm and 4.35pm, or the grey Toyota, prior to the crash, to contact them.
