GRANGE CE Primary School has been awarded the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.

The International School Award is a badge of honour for schools that do outstanding work in international education, such as through links with partner schools overseas.

The school has formed a strong partnership with one in Sikles, Nepal, and reciprocal teacher visits have taken place to improve the partnership and encourage improved education practice.

Head teacher Phillipa Summers said: “It is a credit to our whole school community.

“We will continue to build upon this success by continuing our work as active global citizens and look forward to working on exciting future projects with our partner school in Nepal.”

John Rolfe, from the British Council, said: “Adding an international dimension to children’s education ensures that they are truly global citizens and helps prepare them for successful future careers in an increasingly global economy.”
