FOURTEEN mountain rescuers were needed to locate a solo walker after he tripped and sustained a knee injury at Pike O'Blisco.
Members of the Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team were called out at around 4pm yesterday after the man's 999 call had 'dropped out' before he could give his location.
He had requested help but an exact location was difficult to establish, said rescuers.
The team attended and while going up one side of Pike O'Blisco, the injured man was helped down the other.
They found him at a Langdale campsite, where he was checked over and given pain relief.
He was able to continue on his way.
