A NEW road bridge in Eden costing more than £100,000 has allowed a busy road to reopen.
The road between Warcop and the A66 is now open to traffic following the replacement of the original bridge at Moorbeck which was subsiding.
Councillor Martin Stephenson, who is the local member and Chair of the council’s Local Committee for Eden, said: “The new bridge looks great and I’m really pleased that everything is now in place and the road has fully reopened to all traffic.
“The bridge provides a vital link between Warcop and the A66 and I’d like to thank the local community for their patience and co-operation while the bridge was out of action.”
Cumbria County Council has invested around £130,000 for 11 week project which replaced the old two-span bridge with a single span structure.
