GRANGE was well represented at the Cumbria in Bloom awards - bagging a Gold for the third year in a row.

And as well as getting their hands on a Gold, the seaside spot was also awarded the prestigious Best Small Town title.

Grange in Bloom secretary Jan Tomlinson said: "The Grange in Bloom Group were thrilled to be awarded a gold award for the third year in a row and feel it is excellent reward for all the hard work of the numerous groups of volunteers who help make the gardens and the town of Grange so special."

Ms Tomlinson added that the Promenade Gardening Group worked 'tirelessly' leading them to be judged as Outstanding in the It's Your Neighbourhood category for the second consecutive year.

And Thornleigh Hotel and Cartmel Grange Care Home were both named as runners up in their categories.

"Their beautiful gardens helped Grange to achieve a Gold award," added Ms Tomlinson.
