A SOUTH Lakes charity is to host a gala dinner to raise money for its work with carers of all ages.
Each year South Lakeland Carers supports more than 1,000 carers, who provide unpaid care for a disabled, sick or elderly relative or loved one.
The youngest Carer it works with is just six years old and the oldest is 97. All of them care, without payment, for a friend or relative; some for more than 50 hours each week.
MORE TOP STORIES: The charity is holding a gala dinner on Saturday, October 11 at the Castle Green Hotel at Kendal.
There will be cabaret, dancing, an auction and a raffle when guests will have the chance to win one of many special prizes donated by local businesses.
Tickets are £35 per head or you can buy a table for ten people for £300. To reserve places, telephone 01539 815970 or email admin@slcarers.org.uk. “It’s vitally important for us to raise income through events like this as traditional income sources are shrinking,” said Steve Pollard, Director of South Lakeland Carers.
“At the same time, there’s a growing demand for our services. Our gala dinner will be a great night out and the money raised will make a big difference to the lives of local carers.”
