THE Environment Agency has issued a number of flood alerts and warnings for the Cumbrian coast at high tide tonight.

When the tide peaks at around midnight tidal spray and onshore flooding may occur to roads and some properties along the coast may be affected.

 People are warned to stay away from the coast.

  • Silloth to St Bees including Maryport, Flimby, Workington and Whitehaven
  • Gretna to Silloth, areas at risk include properties at Mossband Hall Marsh, Silloth, Burgh Marsh, Port Carlisle, Wampool Estuary, Skinburness Marsh, Skinburness and Rockcliffe

FLOOD ALERT

  • Lune Estuary
  • Duddon Estuary including Haverigg, Millom Marsh, Foxfield, Sandside and Dunnerholme
  • Coast from St Bees Head to Millom
  • Coastline at Barrow in Furness
  • Coast at North Morecambe Bay
