There is more detail - but fewer images- in Lonely Planet's Washington, Oregon and the Pacific North West (£15.99). It's less spiky and opinionated than the Rough Guides but is easy to follow and helps ensure you don't miss the 'must-see' sights and attractions.
If you are heading to one of the most interesting and scenic parts of the American continent, then taking a copy of each of these books will definitely enhance your visit.
