A 27-YEAR-OLD driver escaped unhurt after his car came to a rest on its side when it left the embankment on the A684 at New Hutton.
Emergency services were called at 11.15am to Hawkrigg Lane and the road was closed for around an hour-and-a-half while firefighters used specialist equipment to free the trapped driver, from Silsden, West Yorkshire.
A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said they attended the scene but the driver of the car involved, a Toyota Yaris, did not require treatment.
The road has now re-opened.
