TWO South Lakes Methodists have returned from a fact-finding tour of Argentina.
South Lakeland District Councillor Matt Severn and community pastor Jonny Gios, both from Kendal, joined Penrith farmer Jess Tweedie on the nine-day trip.
They travelled to Buenos Aires and Rosario to witness first-hand the work of the Methodist Church of Argentina in schools, universities and orphanages.
Cumbria Methodist district has been working in partnership with the Methodist Church of Argentina for the last decade in a project which this year raised more than £7,000 for children's homes in Argentina.
Cllr Severn said: "This was an incredible trip and I have learnt a huge amount. The Methodist Church does an incredible job in Argentina and I know it has a great future which is very inspiring. I look forward to continuing to build bridges between Argentina and Cumbria."
