THE 'best of British classical music talent' will be coming to Muncaster Castle for a weekend-long celebration of the arts.
The west Cumbria landmark will play host to three superb musicians who will perform two concerts on November 8 and 9.
Led by one of Britain’s most exciting pianists, Anna Tilbrook, accomplished violinist, Matthew Trusler, and soprano opera singer, Sarah Tynan, the concerts will include a diverse range of classical music selections.
On November 8 the trio will perform songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic Carousel, and their great hits Mister Snow and You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Additional highlights will include Kurt Weil and Ira Gershwin’s Lady in the Dark, Gilbert and Sullivan’s operettas, and a Viennese whirl of Franz Lehar, Johann Strauss, Fritz Kreisler and Jascha Heifetz.
In the second concert on November 9 they will change style to become more classical, performing arias from Handel’s great operas Guilio Cesare and Xerxes, Mozart’s L’Amero from Il Re Pastore and Elgar’s Violin Sonata.
