A CUMBRIA Police officer is throwing caution to the wind by taking part in a skydive to raise money for CFM Radio’s Cash For Kids charity.

Inspector Helen Harkins will join 19 people in the Santa and Friends skydive on November 16 at Grange-over-Sands.

The skydive is part of the charity’s Mission Christmas programme which aims to ensure that every child has a present to open on Christmas day.

Temporary Inspector Helen Harkins said: “I’m really looking forward to taking part in the event and can’t wait for it to happen.

“I’m sure there will be a few nerves on the day and especially at the moment before I jump.

“Every child deserves to have a gift to open up on Christmas Day and this is a charity which the Constabulary is very supportive of.

“I’m aiming to raise £400 and I am over halfway to achieving this total already.”
