TRUSTEES are being sought for a new company to run community services in Ulverston.

Ulverston Community Enterprise is working with South Lakeland District Council to take over running a range of facilities, including the potential transfer of the Coronation Hall and markets.

Group chairman Judy Pickthall, one of three founding trustees, said: “This is a great opportunity to bring back these locally important services to Ulverston.

"We are very pleased that SLDC and Ulverston Town Council are being entirely supportive of this new venture. It is important to the board that the new trust is run as a community-led business, with all proceeds invested back into services in Ulverston.

"We can run these services effectively for the benefit of the town and are now looking to build a talented team of individuals with a variety of skills to help us take this hugely important project forward.”

The other founding trustees are Jane Harris and Janette Jenkinson. The deadline for application is Monday November 17.
