A TEAM from Kendal Army Cadets won a county military skills competition held at the Warcop Army Training Estate.
The competition, involving teams from all over Cumbria, consisted of a timed map reading exercise during which military skills were tested.
These ranged from basic battle skills to section battle drills and minor tactics. Practical first aid tests, improvised shelter building and command tasks supplemented the battle skills phase of the competition.
During the two-day competition drill and turnout were also inspected. The winning trophy was presented by Cumbria ACF Honorary Colonel, Mrs Susie Villars-Smith.
