COLIN Fox, the marketing manager of English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues, has been visiting two Chinese cities - Hong Kong, and Guangzhou - this week to meet representatives from the travel trade and the local media to promote the Lake District. It is his third visit to China in a bid to get more of the country's 180,000 annual visitors to make the journey north from London. VisitBritain figures show that Chinese travellers are now the largest group of tourists in the world.
