ENTRIES are now open for a charity pram race through the streets of Windermereon New Year's Day.

After 15 years, Windermere and Ambleside Lions have revived an event that was a yearly fixture on the streets of Bowness and Windermere.

The event features teams of people dressed up racing home built and decorated "prams" around the streets.

Racing will start from midday and entries to race have now opened at www.windermerepramrace.co.uk

Cllr Ben Berry, the event director and W&A Lion, said: "This kind of event is exactly what we want in Windermere. It is great fun, it gets everyone together and gives a New Year boost to business. I can't wait to see what people come up with!"
