A CCTV image of a man police want to speak to in connection with an alleged assault on a 16-year-old boy in Kendal has been released.

Cumbria Police said the offender challenged a group of young people in McDonald's, on Stricklandgate, about their behaviour before allegedly throwing a drink in the victim’s face and punching him.

The teenager suffered a broken nose as a result of the alleged attack at around 8.10pm on October 9.

PC Claire Martin said: “We ask that anyone who has information about the incident or recognises the man from the CCTV images to get in touch.

"The victim was understandably shaken by the incident and we ask for the public’s help in tracing this man.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and for PC Claire Martin or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
