A DESIGNER dress worn once by Strictly Come Dancing star and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon is being auctioned in South Lakes in aid of charity.

The teal-coloured dress was worn by the celebrity to launch an international paint company's 'colour of the year'.

It will be sold at Eighteen Eighteen Auctioneers, Crooklands, on Monday (December 8).

Cash raised will go to the Cumbria based Outward Bound Trust, an educational charity that helps young people.

The celebrity wore the dress at a paint colour launch in February.

Donning the frock and wearing feathered make-up, the singer took part in a ballet-inspired photo and video shoot to showcase teal as the top shade of 2014.

The custom-made, multi-tonal dress, with feathers, was designed by Nihil Obstat, a Spanish couture house whose clients include Julianna Moore and Spanish actress Marta Lopez.

David Brookes, head of specialist sales at Eighteen Eighteen Auctioneers, estimates the dress's size as a 10 or 12.
