A SOUTH Lakeland brewery is believed to be the first in the UK to launch a mobile app for trade customers.
Staveley's Hawkshead Brewery has had help from Kirkby Lonsdale-based Hut8 Media which has developed the app to enable users to place an order for beer any time and from anywhere.
Publicans can use the app to browse the beer list, view artwork, tasting notes and prices and submit an order which will be stored on the device and sent once a connection is available.
Hut8 Media have designed a catalogue style application for use on smartphones and tablets, using Hawkshead Brewery's very own branding and clear graphics which make it easy to navigate.
Trade customers can download the app, free of charge, from Apple App Store or Google Play Store after registering for a log-in.
Ms Greenbank added: “Although initially for trade customers there is the potential to develop the app further to include retail customers in the future.”
