THE 72-year-old pedestrian injured in a collision with a bus yesterday morning is now recovering in hospital, police have reported.
The Kendal woman, who was rushed to Preston by ambulance shortly after 8am, suffered 'serious' leg injuries but these are not believed to be life-threatening, according to a spokesman for Cumbria Police.
She was in a collision with a double-decker vehicle at the junction of Nether Bridge and Milnthorpe Road.
Police confirmed this morning that the woman is still being treated at the Royal Preston Hospital but is not believed to have suffered any other serious injuries in the incident, other than those to her leg.
The incident caused traffic delays affecting people traveling to work and school.
The driver of the bus was a 55-year-old man from Barrow.
