EDEN District Council is considering a Council Tax rise of 1.99 per cent - an increase of £3.61 a year for a Band D property.
The draft budget was agreed by the council's Executive on Tuesday night and includes an extra £100,000 for footway lighting and an investment of more than £200,000 in renewable energy systems in the authority's major building.
