SHEPHERDS, a donkey and lashings of tinsel can only mean one thing for local primary school pupils.
Nativity season is upon us once again and local schools have not disappointed with performances to make every parent proud.
Youngsters took part in both traditional nativity plays, telling the birth of Jesus, and in modern productions with a festive twist.
At Windermere Preparatory School children performed 'A Midwife Crisis', complete with a donkey, a nurse and the angel Gabriel in a tinsel-lined stetson.
Kendal's Dean Gibson Catholic Primary School was the place to be when key stage one pupils performed 'Baubles' - their version of a traditional nativity - featuring halo-clad angels, wise men, shepherds and a manger.
And cherubic nursery and reception children at Kendal's Heron Hill Primary School performed Angel Express, which raised almost £200 for the North West Air Ambulance Service, St John's Hospice and New Beginnings.
The Foundation Stage pupils raised £188.33, while key stage one pupils raised a further £290.79.
