POLICE told Milnthorpe parish councillors that they are 'unable to guarantee' the policing of market-day traffic in the village.
The parish council heard this would leave organisers responsible, a situation that councillors described as 'unsatisfactory'.
Parish clerk John Scargill is to write to the police commissioner to express the council's dissatisfaction.
