EDEN householders living in fuel poverty are being urged by the district council to apply for cash under the government's new Green Deal Home Improvement Fund. Eighty-three per cent of wards in Eden show higher levels of fuel poverty than the national average of 10 per cent fuel poor. The fund will pay up to £5,600 to households to help with the cost of installing energy saving measures such as solid wall insulation, double glazing, boilers, cavity wall and floor insulation. For information contact the Housing Team at Eden District Council on 01768 212330 or email: housing.services@eden.gov.uk
