A TEENAGER was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries and another was seriously injured in a horror crash on the A590.

At 3.50pm on Monday, December 22, police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the A590 near Greenodd to deal with a one vehicle road traffic collision involving three teenagers.

The driver of the silver Peugeot 206, an 18 year old male, is being treated at Royal Preston Hospital for serious injuries and a passenger, a 17 year old female, was airlifted to the same hospital with life threatening injuries.

Suitably trained police officers are supporting their families.

The other passenger was a 15 year old male who was treated at the scene.

News of the horrific incident, which closed the A590 for several hours, came almost immediately after the road had reopened following an earlier serious car crash.

At 11.56am emergency services were called to two vehicle collision involving a 20 year old Barrow woman who was also airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital with life threatening injuries.
